Biography

Ms. Sarmin Akhter Beauty is a Lecturer in the Department of Fashion Design & Technology at Sonargaon University (SU), Dhaka, having joined the faculty in January 2019. She completed her B.Sc. in Fashion Design & Technology from the National Institute of Fashion & Technology (NIFT) in 2018 and later earned an M.Sc. in Fashion Design from BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT). She has over six years of university-level teaching experience in Fashion Design & Technology. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ms. Beauty is actively engaged in academic research. Her research interests include handloom-based fashion development, sustainable fashion, and zero-waste pattern design. Her work bridges heritage craftsmanship with modern sustainability, with a particular focus on the Bangladeshi handloom fashion industry. Ms. Beauty is also involved in curriculum development and mentoring students in design development, pattern drafting, and creative practice. Alongside academia, she possesses strong skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, SEO, and digital marketing, supporting both academic and entrepreneurial fashion initiatives.
